I’m Elle from Los Angeles, CA!

I prefer cycling instead of driving, dessert instead of dinner, and spending quality time with my talking parrot Yoshi.

I am a former Yelp Eliter; fervent about exploring the new, learning from the past and supporting local businesses and the community.

When I’m not busy exploring the City of Angels, I help tech, startup companies scale and launch big initiatives.

I get a kick out of sharing my love of LA with others.

Why Brassy?

Brassy is defined as:

  • very confident and aggressive in a loud and sometimes annoying way

  • tastelessly showy or loud in appearance or manner

Growing up, I was either too quiet or too much! It’s either too much or not enough!

I have strong opinions; I love reviewing experiences, restaurants, products and things. Many people find unsolicited opinions overwhelming. I have so many opinions that I want to share with the world!

Thus, I decided to write all my reviews, and opinions, in this a giant, love letter to the city of LA which make up this lovely little website, I call Brassy.

Brassy is the perfect name: it gleams without overwhelming. Brass is the metal of practicality, yet it holds the potential for elevation. If someone tries to label me as brassy or tacky, I now embrace the opportunity to redefine it into a positive force. So let’s be Brassy together ;)

Favorite LA Neighborhoods:

  • Downtown LA for the history, the architecture, the culture, and memorable places including Grand Central Market, the Arts District, Chinatown and Little Tokyo

  • Silver Lake and Echo Park - for always feeling on the cusp of the next big thing - while still being managing to be cool without even trying

  • Santa Monica for the beach, pier, cliff drop offs and pretending I have a beachside condo

  • Venice for the Boardwalk and all it’s grungy eclectic-ness

  • Downtown Culver City for its approachability, fun and genuine without being snobby

  • Koreatown for out-of-this-world Korean food and a sprinkling of LA’s best bar culture and nightlife (beware of their limited parking!)

I could go on-and-on!
